FAQs

What types of cables will High Wire work with?

High Wire is designed to work with interconnects, power, grounding or any other cables found in any modern 2-channel, home audio or home theater system.  It can work with diameters up to 3/4" (19mm) and is designed to lift and organize interconnects with small to large numbers of cables.

What are the product dimensions?

Floor stand with wheels:
Small Wheel = 6" H x 3.25 W
Medium Wheel = 7" H x 4.25 W
Large Wheel = 7" H x 4.3" W

Floor Stand Diameter= 4"

Product Widths
Small Bar= 3.25" W
Medium Bar = 4.20" W
Large Bar = 5.50" W

How far apart should each High Wire be from each other?

Typically figure 12”-24” spacing which is dependent on the wire flexibility, weight and diameter of cables being supported. Final spacing adjustment can be accomplished by simply sliding each High Wire unit to adjust their in-between spacing. It is important to keep each cable in the same wheel location from unit to unit. If the cables get crossed it could cause problems with repositioning.

Will using High Wire products improve audio quality?

While our products have not been formally tested to determine audio impact, however acrylic is known for vibration dissipation properties.

Can I run both power and interconnects together on a single High Wire?

Yes! Interconnects, grounding and network can certainly be supported with one wheel assembly however, the High Wire floor standing Peak or wall mounted Bridge with the additional bar, are designed to allow you to run both power alongside interconnects in a single unit. It is, however, recommended to use a quality shielded power cable to do so.

If you did not purchase a Peak or Bridge but want to add the bar to your setup, you can purchase the Spur found in the shop under accessories.

Can I use High Wire to streamline the many grounding cables I have?

Absolutely!  Grounding has becoming increasingly more popular as it has proved to improve the audio experience with a much blacker and quieter background.  Many components can be grounded with some even having both chassis and signal grounding available.  Regardless if the grounding device is passive or active many additional cables are needed depending on the manufacturer.  This can almost double the cables in a system leading to quite an unsightly nest of wires.

Can High Wire products handle various size cable diameters in one unit?

Yes indeed! High Wire has been designed to handle all sizes up to 3/4" (19mm) cables. If you have a mix, you can size the wheel to fit your largest cable and run the other cables in that unit. Additionally, you can purchase a Peak or Bridge with the additional bar and have it manage two additional but different size cables. If you have questions reach out, we love to talk audio!

Is there a way to have High Wire units at different floor heights so that they can cross each other without interfering with each other?

Absolutely!!  Use the Elevation unit to keep the cables the highest off the floor.  Then use the Mesa to have cables underneath the Elevation cables without interfering with each other.

During installation can the cables be attached to the wheel assembly separate from the base?

Yes Indeed!  The wheel assembly is a separate device from the base assembly.  At times it maybe
convenient to fill the wheel assembly without the base or wall mount attached.

How do I close the locking wheel?

Simply turn the serrated wheel clockwise until you hear a click of the soft locking position. To open simply turn the serrated wheel counterclockwise to hear its soft locking position.  Do not use excessive force to rotate the serrated wheel to the closed position.  If excessive force is needed then one or more of the cables are not fully seated within its opening.  Make sure the cables are fully seated within its slot or damage could result to one of the acrylic wheels or cables.

Can more than one cables supported in the same cable opening of a wheel assembly?

The High Wire Summit Series is designed to have only one wire per opening. This way there is a consistent air gap between each cable.

Determining Opening Size for Cables

If you are unsure what size wheel or bar size to use, you can measure your cable size by using a tape measure or ruler.

Simply put your tape measure or ruler on a flat surface and then place a cable over top. The diameters we offer are up to 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4", pick the lowest size you can still see on your tape measure or ruler.

In the case of this cable to the right, because 1/4" is covered up, use the 1/2" wheel or bar.
